Interviews: Jamart

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Progressive Metal band Jamart from Australia. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

The word Jamart is an ancient word, it is the origin of the word Jam. I like to find the source of things in this world

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Progressive metal keeps me excited more than other genres, I love listening to all metal genres but I write Progressive metal from soul.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I recorded an album hoping one day some good musicians would be interested in playing with me. I didn’t want to ask musicians to play, I wanted them to ask to play with me. It feels more real. Nathan the drummer became a fan and now is a huge part of Jamart, so we became a 2 piece for a while until Dutchie Holland noticed us. He said he liked JamArt but it needs a bassist, so I said your welcome to learn the songs so he did and now JamArt can't live without him

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Ersh on – Wormrot

Dutchie – Pantera

As a writer, I avoided listening to music for 15 years. One day I thought fuck it, I turned the radio on and I heard Radio Head Paranoid android playing. This song inspired me to write the first Jamart album, even though it sounds nothing like it lol
