Interviews: Nightmare Screen

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Hard Rock band Nightmare Screen from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

The nightmare screen represents the trance created by the opiate of cell phones and the fact that none of us are engaged in the world anymore. We are all addicted to our phones and technology. The album's name is The Slumber representing the trance in which we are held in. This whole album is a concept album.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I wanted to merge heavy music with dreamscapes and audio tapestries that are reminiscent of a modern Pink Floyd.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

All of the band members are members of Dying Light.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Shaun the drummer is a speed metal fan. Jeff loves 80’s and 90’s metal. I am a big fan of Blck Sabbath and Pink Floyd.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I am inspired by my own experiences and the melancholy muses that ebb and flow.

6. Where was your last gig?

We last played Arctic Outreach. A charity music show.

7. Where would you like to act?

On every corner of the planet.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I would love to open for Godsmack, Avenged Sevenfold, or the dream, Metallica.

9. Whom not?

I would never want to open for Nickelback.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Every time I hit the stage I’m frightened. The only cure is hitting the first chord and going for it.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Pink Floyd, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, and Ozzy.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

My hair.

13. What do you think of your fans?

I love all of them no matter what walk of life they come from. If our music moved them they are kindred spirits.

14. What do you think of our site?

I love the fact that you feature up-and-coming artists.

15. Something to add?

Our album is meant to open our eyes. It’s part one of three concept albums. In this album our hero is a child who is seduced by a beautiful woman in the night and captured in her slumber. The child realizes too late his deal with her is a trap and he is actually in the trance of a spider and the web is slowly eating his vitality. He is able to reach out to the other captives and rally against it. But remains trapped in the dream. We’re excited about part two which begins the awakening of our hero.
