Interviews: PRIME CREATION

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Metal band PRIME CREATION from Sweden. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, did you plan it or come out just like that?

We had a couple of paper sheets filled with different name ideas and words and we just tried out what sounded good.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

It's what we grew up with, rock, hard rock, and metal so it came naturally.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Kim, Robin, former guitarist Mathias Kamijo, and I were in a band called Morifade before we started Prime Creation in 2015. Kim and I have played together since the 90s, and Robin joined Morifade at the beginning of the 2000s so we know each other pretty well.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Esa: In Flames Robin: Helloween

Henrik: Iron Maiden, Symphony X, Gamma Ray

Kim: Soen, Evergrey, In Flames

Rami: In Flames, Metallica, Pantera

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

For the latest album "Tell Freedom I Said Hello" Robin (who writes all the music) started writing the new songs just as Covid 19 shut down the whole world. With only news about shutdowns, contagion risks bankruptcies etc. it became a natural step to start writing more melancholic music that we then topped up with more "hopeful" songs. The first song written for the album was "My Last Farewell" and the last was "Erased" so musically it's often the everyday things that inspire. Lyrically we decided on a dystopian theme to fit the music and I started to write the lyrics with some help from Esa.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our latest gig was with another Swedish metal band called Tad Morose, which was at the end of September following a short tour in Latvia.

7. Where would you like to act?

We have yet to play at the Sweden Rock Festival, that would be fun and Wacken, but really, we'd play anywhere if we got the chance!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

In Flames would be cool! We've shared the stage with several acts like W.A.S.P. Dirkschneider and Europe to mention a few, but that was festival gigs so not really the same, we played as an opener to Masterplan at a couple of gigs, which was great.

9. Whom not?

Bob Dylan

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Not anymore. Rehearse to make sure you can confidently play the songs, for me the stage fright came when I wasn't 100% sure how to play a song, for instance, if it was a new song that I'd never played live before.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

For me personally, it's Iron Maiden, the first Maiden song I heard was "The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner" at a friend’s house, oh man, that opening melody just got me hooked, then the more songs I heard the more I noticed Steve Harris's bass playing and that's what made me decide to play the bass as well.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Never had any weird requests really but once two girls sat and cried outside the venue where we were playing because they loved us so much!

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love them of course, without the fans, what's the point?

14. What do you think of our site?

Great, every mention from guys like yourselves is important to a band like us!

15. Something to add?

Well, we are in the middle of the songwriting for the next album which we hope to release in a not too far future and hopefully, we will see our fans on the road somewhere.
