Interviews: Purin

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Groove Metal/Thrash Metal/Death Metal band Purin from Spain. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

Our name, Purín is a Spanish word to say slurry, the decomposing fecal matter used as fertilizer for the fields. Usually, it comes from farms, which is why our logo is a pig. We are from the countryside, and we live surrounded by farms and fields. So our name, while at the same time indicating that we play extreme music, says the land that where we came from.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We play this genre because it is the type of music that we love. We play it because we want to play the same kind of music that we listen to and enjoy.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We knew each other before that band was formed, except for the singer who contacted us and came to do an audition for the band. We loved his performance the first day, so he has become our guy on vocals since then.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Adrià: Pantera

Eloi: Slipknot

Josep: Fleshwater

Andreu: Soziedad Alkoholika

Jordi: Lamb of god

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We play the music that we want to play, and I think we find inspiration in ourselves. The things that happen to us or that we feel are what make us find inspiration to write the songs.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was in Mollerussa, which is the hometown for some of us.

7. Where would you like to act?

There are a lot of nice places to play, but what is most important for us is to see people enjoying this kind of music wherever it is.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

There are a lot of great musicians and people to join us to make music, but it has to be people that help us improve the song and do it for the love of this kind of music as we do.

9. Whom not?

Anyone who would like to make our music more commercial or radio-friendly.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

I think none of us suffered from stage fright, but it's normal to feel nervous because you want everything to go well while you are on stage. My tips for beginners are that you don't have to be afraid because everyone makes mistakes, and everyone someday was his first show. Practice, do your best and everything will go alright.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

I have been inspired by a lot of bands, maybe for their music, for their playing, or for their live performances. I can be there all day to name them all.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We are not used to being asked about weird things.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We are really proud when some people tell us that they listen to and enjoy our music. For us, they are friends or people that we know, and we don't consider them fans. The people who listen to us are usually very polite to us and support us. We are very grateful.

14. What do you think of our site?

To be honest, I didn't know your site before, but we are happy to see sites like this for bands like us to have a space to show our music.

15. Something to add?

We just want to thank the site for the opportunity to talk about our music and our project. We want to encourage everyone to listen to our music and give an opportunity to bands like us. Thanks.
