Interviews: Venrez

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock band Venrez from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, did you plan it or come out just like that?

The original band members insisted on this name. It is a combination of my real first and last name Steven Berez, even though I go by Ven or Venrez. I hated it at first although have come to like it as the years rolled by.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Well, my guitar player and backing vocalist, Jason Womack, writes the music and I write the lyrics. I think he created the perfect sound for the lyrics and direction we wanted to go. In my opinion, we have created a new genre I call 'Epic Alternative Rock'.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Jason and I started the band and had known each other for a year before we did. The project had several different lineups until the current and best lineup we ever had came together in 2018

4. Each band member's favorite band?

My favorite band is Aerosmith, Jason's is The Jesus and Mary Chain, Gabe's is The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Victor's is Bush.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I was inspired lyrically by Bob Dylan, John Lennon, and Jim Morrison. My personal inspiration comes from fantasy stories I want to tell, historical lessons, current life lessons, and shots at government and tyranny

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was in Austin, TX on tour with Buckcherry in August 2023

7. Where would you like to act?

We have toured the USA, UK and Europe. I would like to tour Mexico, South America, Asia and Australia

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I would love to tour with The Cult, Alice in Chains, Bush, Breaking Benjamin, Pearl Jam and Aerosmith

9. Whom not?

This is a tricky question. It is my opinion to not mention bad things about any band. I will simply say no bands whose genre we do not fit with

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

We have all been a little nervous at the beginning of our careers before big shows. Although once the music starts there is no stage fright. I believe you own it or you do not. My advice to anyone with stage fright is go to find another career if you cannot park it where it belongs. And that would be back stage not on the stage.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Ozzie, David Bowie, The Black Angels, Bob Dylan and John Lennon.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

If would fill their small necklace vial with my blood

13. What do you think of your fans?

We have the greatest fans on earth who support us in the most amazing ways. Without the fans, there is no rock n roll. I think many rockstars forget this very important fact

14. What do you think of our site?

Your site is state of the art and covers all the best aspects that need to be of today's music world

15. Something you'd like to add?

I would like to thank you for the interview and thank all our friends and fans around the world who have been incredible to us
