Interviews About Albums: Futuro Primitivo - Declive (2024)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Spanish Death Metal/Thrash Metal/Hardcore band Futuro Primitivo to ask questions about their album "Declive"

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

The most important thing about this work is that it means for us our first L.P. and the culmination of a work of approximately 4 years while the band was conceived to have everything ready for the publication of "Declive".

2. What is the meaning of the name of the EP/CD?

"Declive" for us means the decadence of the earth and the human beings that have caused us this environmental catastrophe, the consecration of the life of easy consumption, and degradation of the most basic rights of human beings. We focus on how the 20s have entered, both at the level of new armed conflicts, virus catastrophes, and impoverishment of the population on different scales.

3. Who is the composer of the CD/EP?

On a lyrical level, Alex Misas is in charge and once created we discuss them with the band. Regarding the music we can say that Pere Sánchez is in charge of generating some guitar riffs that he puts together in the local studio and it is there where, together with Manel and Llobet, they have just redirected the song and given the raw and direct sound that we want. Alex Misas also has an important part in this musical composition work.

4. If you had to choose a song, which one would you choose?

I think it is something very personal and each member would choose a different one because of what it means to them. In my case, I feel very connected at a sound level to “Las garras del engaño” because it is a song that I don't know if I can define as complex to play, but there is a moment in which the instrument is at the extreme and at a level of letters "La Merma".

5. Is there any special message on this EP/CD?

If there is, what is it? Perhaps it is a question that Alex can answer more easily but to summarize we are in a moment in which we witness before us something similar to the end or a change of order, at the moment we do not know what.

6. Are there any lyrics you would love to share?

We sincerely put our whole soul into the group's lyrics and compositions, so by sharing we want to share all the lyrics.

7. What inspirations have been important for this album? Do you like music or friends, family, someone you would love to especially thank?

At a lyrical level, how we experienced COVID, and at a sound level, how we were able to define a band without resembling the one in which we had shared a formation years ago. Get that raw and direct sound, reminiscent of trash and death classics but with a hardcore base. If we talk about bands... Sepultura, Napalm Death, Carcass, Brujería, Strapping Young Lad, Subterranean Kids, S.A...

8. Anything to add?

Well, we really appreciate Breathing the Core's interest in this interview.
