Interviews: FEAR THE BEARDS

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Stoner Rock band, FEAR THE BEARDS, from Italy. Check out the interview and follow the project on his FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

We couldn't find a suitable name that convinced us, but after an alcohol-based brainstorming session, looking at each other in the face, we realized that all four of us had beards and looked intimidating. That's how Fear the Beards was born. 

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

The video for "Prehistoric Dog" by Red Fang awakened in us the desire to play this genre, and after returning from their concert at The Cage in Livorno, we effectively formed the band.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We've been friends for a lifetime!

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Pietro's favorite band is Led Zeppelin, Nico's is the Smashing Pumpkins, Indi's is Tool and Dani's is AC/DC.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Basically, music is an outlet for us. So, yes, it can be said that, without taking ourselves too seriously, the inspiration for the songs and lyrics comes from our daily struggles.

6. Where was your last gig?

At Arci Ombriano in Crema, Lombardy.

7. Where would you like to act?

We would love to tour Italy and play in the many small clubs scattered around and, why not, even at some festivals. And it would be fantastic to have some gigs abroad too!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

It would be a dream to collaborate with Dave Catching from Rancho de la Luna in Joshua Tree Park, California.

9. Whom not?

Honestly, we don't have an answer to this question.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Honestly, we've never suffered much from stage anxiety. On the contrary, most of the time, we're really pumped up. But in case, a beer makes everything better! But without exaggerating, or it becomes a mess!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Obviously, the patriarchs of the genre, such as Black Sabbath, Kyuss, and QOTSA. But also others like Red Fang (of course), Sleep, Colour Haze, Lowrider, Truckfighters, 1000mods, and many more.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Well, at the moment, we haven't received particularly strange requests, but we're ready for the worst!

13. What do you think of your fans?

Seeing people come to our concerts to have fun and let off steam from the stress while enjoying the blasts of decibels from our amplifiers is awesome. And we'd like to meet even more people!

14. What do you think of our site?

Great website!! There's always a lot of great new music to discover, and with the interviews, you can learn a bit more about the featured bands. We really like it. Only our EP is missing, which will be out soon, but there will be a chance to make up for it!
