Interviews: FerreTT

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Glam Metal band, FerreTT, from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the project on his FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

The band actually started way back in 2011, with essentially a completely different lineup. We were doing a bunch of lines in my friend Nicky G.'s basement one night and writing music just to dick around. We wound up writing a song called "My Cock....Your Funeral," which wound up pretty much being a glam metal track. Things just snowballed from there. I had a ferret at the time named Sammi, who was named after Sammi Curr from the cult heavy metal horror film "Trick or Treat." Somehow, in our drunken coked-up heads, we decided to call the band FerreTT, both about Sammi the Ferret and Ratt, which is one of my favorite bands. In hindsight, I wish we called it Weasel, but it is what it is at this point!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Because glam metal rules and for way too long, amongst many "true" metalheads, it has not gotten its fair shake. Yeah, it's so lame doing coke and banging strippers, I know. I much rather be in a man pile with 300-pound big sweaty men!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

The original lineup? Yes, of course. But things have changed a lot since then. Amongst the new ferrets on the block, Scotty Hart (guitar) is also an original member. Our new lead guitarist, Cool Hand Luke, I've known him for about 14 years now. I only met Juan Savage (drums) and Chorizo Del Rio (bass) earlier this year, but they have fit in really well so far. I like where the new lineup is heading.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Some of my top bands are Type O Negative, KISS, Guns n' Roses, Ratt, Motley Crue, Danzig, Megadeth, Dokken, Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourne, etc. I can go on and on.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Chicks, drugs, horror movies, wrestling, other metal, etc.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was an "unofficial" COVID-era outside gig that took place in the Rockaways back in June of 2021.

7. Where would you like to act?

I assume you mean where would we like to play next? Anywhere! We haven't played live in almost 3 years. Soon...

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Anyone awesome and authentic. Obviously, it needs to somewhat fit, but I'd like to think we are pretty versatile. We have played with death metal bands before and we have played with Stryper before! We can generally make work.

9. Whom not?

No hipster posers that are offended by their own shadows. Get a life already, and get the fuck out of the metal scene! Go back to whatever junkie cesspool you came from!

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Not really. Alcohol always helps, but it's important to toe the line. I've gone over it once or twice, and it's not what you want.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

A lot of the ones I mentioned above. Ratt, Dokken, L.A. Guns, W.A.S.P., Vain, Pretty Boy Floyd, Alice Cooper, Kix, etc.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

This just happened recently actually. Someone messaged the FerreTT Facebook page asking me to do research on Asperger's Syndrome. It was totally a legit person, not a bot or a troll. Like what do I even say to that?

13. What do you think of your fans?

Most of them are pretty badass! I wouldn't mind some more of the loose female variety (and under 35). Let's make that reality with this new record, shall we?

14. What do you think of our site?

It's simply beautiful.

Pound beers, smoke grass, blast lines, and get ass! THE GLAMDEMIC HAS ARRIVED.
