Interviews: Ghost Mode

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Metalcore band, Ghost Mode, from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the project on his FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

Pretty uneventful story, but our guitarist Brycen got the name from Snapchat on the map feature where you go into incognito mode and it happened to be called Ghost Mode and that’s all there was to it.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

As a collective, metalcore has always been everyone’s favorite genre to play and listen to.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

3 of us (Isaak, Nate, and Brycen) knew each other prior playing in a previous metalcore band together before forming Ghost Mode, we later found Dylan after the first vocalist we tried out couldn’t commit but recommended Dylan to us which turned out to be the best choice we could have possibly made. Lastly, through timing and luck (long story) Alex came along looking for a band to play bass for and luckily we needed a bass player and it all came together pretty effortlessly.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Isaak - Asking Alexandria

Alex - Cane Hill

Brycen - Sleep Token

Dylan - Bilmuri

Nate - Chelsea Grin

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Most of the time it really just comes down to life, relationships, hardships, overcoming dark periods in life, and striving for something greater.

6. Where was your last gig?

Dante’s in our hometown Portland, OR.

7. Where would you like to act?

We would love to play the Roseland Theater or the Crystal Ballroom here in town as well as some of the bigger summer festivals.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Now that’s a loaded question as all of us probably have someone different we would love to have on a Ghost Mode track. As much as we would love to have someone from a big act in the metalcore scene feature, we also would love to feature people from outside our genre as well.

9. Whom not?

None of us really have malice towards any one specific person enough to never work with them, we are all pretty laid back and unbothered guys so that’s a tough one to answer.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

We think all of us do really well on stage, there’s definitely the pre-set jitters, but I think that’s more excitement than anything else. For beginners, just go out there and do your thing, and also have fun while you’re doing it because there’s no better feeling than going up in front of a crowd and doing what you love, and most of the time, those people in the crowd would never be able to go up there and do what we do.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

This genre is constantly evolving with so many other genres adding flavor to it that it’s hard to name any one band or even five at this point, but we definitely take inspiration from bands and artists that are diverse in sound because that’s one the goals of Ghost Mode is to be diverse and show that we are capable of achieving many different genres.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

So far as Ghost Mode nothing weird yet, but time will tell on that one haha.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are everything, amazing, supportive, and all of the above, none of us or any artist ever are anything without them and their support.

14. What do you think of our site?

We love it, and we appreciate being given the spotlight here and hope to do more in the future.

15. Something to add?

We would just like to say thank you to Breathing the Core for the time and to anyone who reads this and checks us out! We love you guys and appreciate the support very much.
