Interviews: Lokheira

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Power Metal/Symphonic Metal/Melodic Metal/Groove Metal band, Lokheira, from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the project on his FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, Did you plan it or come out just like that?

We like different Mythologies, including Greek Mythology, and therefore Irene remembered reading the word "Lokheira" from the Homeric Hymn to Artemis, Goddess of The Hunt. Paired with Artemis' bow Khryselakatos, "of the Golden Shaft," Lokheira is the name of Artemis' arrows, which the name translates to "Showered by Arrows".

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

It is one of the most fun genres to play and is a great emotional outlet.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, Irene and George are brother and sister. Irene and Rob are husband and wife. George and Irene have been playing music together for 10+ years in another band that plays Greek music called Helios Greek Band. Rob, George, and Irene would occasionally jam together before becoming a band.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Rob - Orbit Culture

Irene - Unleash The Archers

George - Pink Floyd

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We get inspired by different themes and base our albums on those, telling stories based on true events or people. Each band member plays a part in writing the songs.

6. Where was your last gig?

We are currently only recording music because Rob does multiple instruments, but hope to gig shortly.

7. Where would you like to act?

Anywhere and for anyone who would appreciate our music!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Benjamin Burnley (Breaking Benjamin), Brittany Slayes (Unleash The Archers), Matt Smith (Theocracy), Jonathan Young, or anyone from our favorite bands honestly.

9. Whom not?

Anyone who would try to censor us or change our style.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

None of our band members have ever suffered from stage fright. It is perfectly normal to have pre-show nerves, but after that first song, it all goes away. And also, mistakes happen - most of the crowd won't notice or care, so don't sweat it!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Rob - Machine Head and Opeth.

Irene - Evanescence and Unleash The Archers.

George - Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, and Pantera

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

A band t-shirt showing the 7 Deadly Sins with seven variations of Irene's face on them.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We are so grateful and fortunate to have such supportive fans.

14. What do you think of our site?

It's nice to have a site like this for smaller bands like us to get more attention. We appreciate it.
