Interviews: NOORAG

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Instrumental Groove Metal/Instrumental Sludge Metal band, NOORAG, from Italy. Check out the interview and their music in their BANDCAMP PROFILE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, did you plan it or come out just like that?

It came just like that, referred also to the big prehistoric stones and buildings here.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Cause I love it. It moves me something inside and I always loved playing long-scale guitars.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I do everything by myself, I really have the support of some random friends except for the drummer, Daniele, who is becoming more solid as a partner.

4. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Riffs can come to visit you anytime. my job is to catch them and try to put together a piece of music before they fly away.

5. Where was your last gig?

Last summer, unofficially, in a small club in front of the beach. Amazing night.

6. Where would you like to act?

Imagination has no limits but I really like crowded clubs and feel people close.

7. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Of course, especially in front of a few people; that is what scares me the most. When the crowd is big and the club is full I feel more activated, totally inside the moment, sucked in, otherwise it's like I have to recreate this feeling artificially. Anyway...Deep breath, first song, and usually it just gets better and better :-)

8. What bands have inspired you the most?

A lot, too many, sometimes just a riff or a fill. But it was the Bunn that gave me the final push to start the noorag: I couldn't see myself struggling to put a band together at that time.

9. What do you think of our site?

You guys are awesome, all the passion you put into music is just amazing! and thank you for your support man! see you next time!
