Interviews: Putrefied Feast

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Death Metal band, Putrefied Feast, from Canada. Check out the interview.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

Bob and I had pooled a bunch of potential names to use before he passed. The name "Putrefied Feast" fits the theme of the artwork well and as a bonus, anyone who knew Bob would tell you he loved food. it was a natural fit. The album title came later. I had read something that used the title phrase and it resonated with me. We're all going to die so enjoy the ride.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Love the music, love playing guitar. Ever since I learned how I've loved to write tunes. The heavier the better.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, we would see each other at shows and shoot the shit. I first met Bob at a show he played with his other band, Cuff. That was the first time I had seen a band perform live as a two-piece with a drum machine so I had to give them props for that.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

I can't speak for Bob and I do not have a single favorite band per se. If I were to pick one for the sake of the question - Defeated Sanity

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Anger, hate, riffs, blast beats.

6. Where was your last gig?

Bovine Sex Club in Toronto. With Fister. Awesome guys, great stage presence.

7. Where would you like to act?

On location in Antarctica. The Thing, but real.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Aliens.

9. Whom not?

People.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

I don't have an issue if I have practiced enough. Prepare so that you are confident in your ability to play the set list to your liking and then keep practicing.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Bands that have inspired me: Suffocation, Terrorizer, Decapitated, Insect Warfare, PLF, Mortician Bands that inspired this album: Mortician, Frozen Soul, Sanguisuggabogg

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Once a drunken fan who recognized me, cornered me in the stairwell of a venue as I was leaving a show and emphatically assured me that he was going to watch my band perform the following night, and if I could say hi to Samantha for him to which I told him I would. I had never met him before, was not playing a gig the following night, and did not know Samantha.

13. What do you think of our site?

Looks great! Keep up the good work!
