Behind The Scenes: CRYPTIC CONFINEMENT - A Glimpse Into The Void Below (Official Video)

I've always preferred more straight forward music videos. I'm not big on theatrics and I focus a lot on music. My favorite music videos to watch are the ones that are made up of live footage, such as "Black Sunshine" by White Zombie. So I wanted to go for something with that kind of feel. I also wanted to feature Rich and Fabio in the video because well... it's Rich and Fabio they're awesome musicians and great guys! The only real hurdle was logistics. All three of us live in different countries and have busy schedules. So I thought, "well maybe if we just all had similar backgrounds and filmed the footage on our own time we could make this work. So we agreed to film everything in front of black backgrounds. I wanted a little more room to film than what my apartment has to offer so I went to Jim at Avalon Rehearsal and Recording in Ft Worth, TX. We filmed in his band's room, which is painted black on one side and green on the other. The real magic happened when we sent all the footage to Dead Mann. He color-graded and edited it to look very consistent. It turned out exactly how I wanted it. Just a raw DIY music video that keeps the focus on the music. It was a lot of fun and I hope to do more music videos in the future.
