Interviews: The Blood Of Christ

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Death Metal band The Blood Of Christ from Canada. Check out this band and follow them on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name; did you plan it or come out just like that?

Jeff: We were teenagers, we wanted to be as blasphemous and offensive as possible, and this sounded like the right name to achieve those goals with. There's no deeper meaning and these days, it is just a name, and we would like people from all walks of life to enjoy our music.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Jeff: It came naturally, after discovering thrash metal in the mid to late 80's, then evolving into death metal and black metal. It was a calling from within our animals that drove us to try to be more extreme yet retain some darkness and poetic edges without limitations.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Jeff: Yes, Jason (Longo) and Marek (Kopala); we all grew up together. We were like brothers, playing road hockey and riding our Haro BMX bikes every day. We discovered death metal together and learned how to make our own music together. We met Christopher Roche last year, but he has also been around in the scene for many, many years just like us and played in bands that we know.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Christopher - Opeth

Jason - Edge of Sanity

Jeff - Carcass

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Jeff: It comes from within. Ideas spontaneiously combust in my anima and there's a compulsion to grab my Ibanez Universe and shift those ideas into reality.

6. Where was your last gig?

Jeff: Montreal, Quebec.

7. Where would you like to act?

Jeff: We would love to travel and perform in new regions that we haven't visited before. We have played almost everywhere possible in Canada, so taking a trek down to the USA, soon, would be fantastic.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Jeff: Dream tour? Opening for Carcass and Dismember through Europe.

9. Whom not?

Jeff: Tough question to answer. We like playing gigs with bands from all kinds of genres.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Christopher: I used to back when I was younger, the best advice to give is that everyone will bomb at least once. Just keep doing it and it gets easier every time.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Christopher: Opeth, cynic, and death!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Jeff: One guy asked me to travel with him to the next city beside the one we were gigging in to check out his guitar. He smelled really pungent, so I declined.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Jeff: Appreciated, very much so. Anyone who enjoys our music and wants to see us perform, we truly appreciate that and it is a privilege to do so.

14. What do you think of our site?

Jeff: Excellent content, keep it going!

15. Something to add?

Jeff: Thank you for your time, truly appreciated. We have received nice feedback so far, for our new EP "The Sworn Trilogy" and hope more people will check it out. Cheers.
