Interviews: Hard To Explain

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock/Pop Punk band, Hard To Explain, from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, did you plan it or come out just like that?

We thought it would be funny! We definitely think that as our music has evolved the name has fallen into place and makes perfect sense.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We try not to confine ourselves to a genre, for us the music we write is all about the passion behind it, the energy, and the feel, we just aim for our songs to have that fire underneath them!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Michael and Chris are brothers so they are well acquainted. Chris áisling and Michael lived together for a good while and that’s how hard to explain was born and Ben joined the family about a year into the band's journey.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Chris: Bad Omens,

Michael: ATM Sleeptoken

Ben: bury tomorrow, áisling: foo fighters

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Our music is pure expression so we use our past experiences thoughts and feelings as a basis for our tracks

6. Where was your last gig?

Belfast, Student Union Bar, what a show! Definitely a night we will never forget! We played alongside our management roster buddies, Von Loop and ForeignWolf, and each band played a killer set!

7. Where would you like to act?

Download or Glastonbury would definitely be two we would love to play!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Spiritbox would be a dream collab for us

9. Whom not?

We don't really have anyone that we straight up wouldn't like to collaborate with! 

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Go to the toilet, splash water on your face but remember that nerves are a good sign! We still get nervous, it's a sign that you care

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Again with Spiritbox, áisling takes a lot of inspiration from Courtney LaPlante, architects are another one! We love the modern metal scene currently! Of course, we have our old school inspirations as well with us being proud members of the elder emo community!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Fan has asked áisling to make him a sandwich

13. What do you think of your fans?

Anyone who spends time listening to us, or following us, we appreciate the support so much! Best fans in the world!
