Interviews: Seraphic Eyes

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metal band Seraphic Eyes from Italy. Check out this band and follow them on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

The name Seraphic Eyes is inspired by this kinda old but totally charismatic and confident lady, someone who had lived through a lot of tough experiences in life. Her gaze reflected this strong yet serene will to not give up on anything. But Seraphic Eyes doesn't mean we feel that strong ourselves. It's more like a direction, a goal we might reach someday.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I (Alberto) have always been into classic rock, punk rock, metal, and melodic hardcore like Bad Religion because of my skating days. But when the '90s Seattle scene emerged, popularizing alternative rock, I fell head over heels for this genre so infused with many others, but especially for its deep lyrics and music, which resonated more with my soul.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Laura was my girlfriend before we started playing together, but I only met Alessio when I began searching for a drummer.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Al: Nirvana

Azza: RATM

Laura: Arctic Monkeys

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Our songwriting inspiration mainly comes from life experiences, global or local economic and/or political events, reflections on how the world is going, or rebellious thoughts on the pursuit of happiness.

6. Where was your last gig?

In our city, Biella, in northwest Italy, we had a fantastic acoustic live gig at a really nice place, the Lorien Pub.

7. Where would you like to act?

It would be awesome to play in a sold-out stadium or a big festival someday, even as an opener for someone. But just experiencing the thrill of those volumes for our songs would be something.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I think it would be freaking cool to play with the Foo Fighters, who are like entertainment machines live. We'd also love to play with Muse, whose rebellious soul and criticism of the modern world we admire, or the Smashing Pumpkins with their dozens of amazing songs.

9. Whom not?

More than anything, we feel that, as always in pop history but maybe even more so now in rock, there are sincere and genuine artists, but also bands and artists manufactured for commercial purposes. And we, who love music written with heart, would struggle to share the stage with those who lack this kind of passion for music.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

I (Alberto) was born shy. In a perfect world, maybe I would've been a songwriter for someone else. But having the opportunity to write songs makes you want to share them. That's why, in the end, I had to overcome my shyness. In doing so, I suggest following the advice of theater actors you find online; many of them are fantastic!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Certainly, the bands that inspired us the most are Nirvana for their communicative simplicity and the depth of feelings they evoke, Rage Against the Machine for their power and the desire to scream for a better world, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, and many others for their poetry, originality, sound, and much more.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Our fans are awesome, affectionate, curious people who make you feel the emotions you've conveyed, and it's a beautiful feeling. I know it sounds cliché, but they make all the effort you put into writing and playing worthwhile.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Packed with information, it's great to see that there are still people who care and work hard to talk about and promote music.

14. What do you think of our site?

We have a new album that we think is awesome. Keep following us, and soon you'll be able to sing and dance along with us!

15. Something to add?

Super ricco di informazioni, è bello vedere che c’è ancora gente che ci tiene e si sbatte per parlare e promuovere la musica.
