Interviews: Trish Discord & Devon Aviles

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Industrial Rock/Alternative Rock band Trish Discord & Devon Aviles from the USA. Check out this band and enjoy the interview.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, did you plan it or come out just like that?

My artist name "Discord" came around the same time as the app came out (unintentionally) and is meant to represent the discord of emotions that are usually brewing beneath the surface that need to come out.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

It is my favorite genre so I wanted to do a song in it.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, we have been working on music for a few years now. He mixed my last album "The Aftermath of 2016" and produced two songs on it.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

My favorite bands are Nine Inch Nails, Falling in Reverse, Kerli, Marina and the Diamonds, Talking Heads, Linkin Park, and Paramore.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Usually, it is based on events in my life that make me feel I need to express the emotion that is bottled up inside me. This one came from someone I knew who acted pompous because they were a member of a religion and thought they were holier than everyone else when in reality they were one of the most amoral people I ever met.

6. Where was your last gig?

March 24th at Gold Sounds in Brooklyn, NY was my last gig and my next gig is April 13th on Long Island, NY at Nostalgia.

7. Where would you like to act?

I don't act but I would like to sing around the country and outside the US one day. 

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I would like to do a song with Talking Heads (if they ever got back together) or Nine Inch Nails.

9. Whom not?

I am skipping this one.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

I used to and still get nervous but it is important to remember your message and that there will be people who are inspired by your music and resonate with it.

Nine Inch Nails, Falling in Reverse, Kerli, Marina and the Diamonds, Talking Heads, Linkin Park, and Paramore

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I had someone write emails to me in caps lock without punctuation demanding an autographed photo. They were a bit relentless so eventually I sent it to make them happy.

13. What do you think of your fans?

I think they are great and very genuine people! I consider them friends who understand portions of me I put out into my music.

14. What do you think of our site?

I think it is great and I appreciate you giving Indie/Metal/Alternative Rock artists a platform!

15. Something to add?

In terms of the artwork we wanted to show that organized groups of worship can have a lot of groupthink and be destructive to those outside their group without singling out any specific religion, hence why the image looks very cult-like.
