Interviews: Al-Namrood

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Black Metal band Al-Namrood from Saudi Arabia. Check out this band and follow them on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

AlNamrood started in 2008 as a black metal band inspired by the first and second wave of black metal, however, the idea was unconventional where they wanted to combine Arabian music and black metal.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

It satisfies us, the dark harsh distorted sound as it became our signature is very pleasing to us.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

No, we met at a private gathering where we secretly discussed our musical interests and goals.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

It is a very long list, but long story short: Melechesh, Nile, Behemoth, the exploited, Bathory, Venon, Darkthrone, and Dimmu Borgir.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Real-life situations and events that took place in our environment

6. Where was your last gig?

We never gigged.

7. Where would you like to act?

Probably Scandinavia as it is the core of black metal.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Of course Melechesh as a start was crossed in concept with them, Behemoth and Nile as well.

9. Whom not?

Of course any religious or nationalist band. Nationalism is just the same as religion.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

As stated we never gigged

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Melechesh as start, nile and behemoth, and the Exploited as punk element energy.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

The weirdest I remember was when a fan massaged us, asking if we like to have sexual relationships with our mothers, and what we think of people who like that.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Strong as a battleship!

14. What do you think of our site?

I liked the idea of adding free music, and a wide range of genres, and the interface looks nice as well. The partnership is a good idea also.

15. Something to add?

Thank you.
