Interviews: Death 2Pigs

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Modern Metal/Electronic Metal/Industrial Metal band Death 2Pigs from Italy. Check out this band and follow them on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

The name came from an impact sentence written by Charles Manson (from which we distance ourselves, obviously). We wanted to have a strong name for our project, to catch people's ears, and to spread our message.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We all grew up with metal, but we are also fascinated by some modern form of this genre: so, we basically add some electronic to

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Jim Jeeko,(the drummer) and I have been playing together since 2009, and I come from the same small town from which Daddy T (guitar) and Giugnor (Bass). The equation was simple to solve: when Jim met Daddy, they just threw me in, and then we found the missing piece of the puzzle when Giugnor joined.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Jim's favorite band is Dream Theater; Daddy loves Lamb of God, Giugnor is a huge fan of Linea 77 and I (TTT) prefer Tool above all.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We're constantly influenced by chronicles, books, and cinema: actually, anything we consider relevant is on our records. In “The Beast is Yet to Come” we have a lot of stuff coming from Mary Shelley, Robert Louis Stevenson, and David Lynch!

6. Where was your last gig?

We played our last gig in Bari some months ago (right before we took a break to focus on the timeline of our new release).

7. Where would you like to act?

Anywhere there's a need for snorting pigs!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We would love to share the stage with artists like System of a Down or Slipknot: can you imagine 13 masked men messing around at the same time?

9. Whom not?

The list is too long, but we are sure they wrote our name on theirs.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

All of us have suffered from stage fright (and sometimes we still do). It's the secret behind the love for music and it means a band cares about their fan and public in general! The important thing is to never lose control and stay focused on your performances: people will love your human side, and pick up more frequencies!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

We would say all our recent listenings: SOAD, Tool, Lamb of God, Rammstein, Slipknot, Linea 77, plus some unknown metal and hardcore bands from all over the world.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

To wear one of our masks during the final song of our gig: we guess he is still busted, wandering around! Once you're back on your feet, remember: we've warned you!

13. What do you think of your fans?

We are the best in the world: they can be funny and serious at the same time because they know we talk about serious facts but we don't fail to take it less seriously to make them feel comfortable.

14. What do you think of our site?

We think it's really a blast! There are a lot of international bands on, so we are honored to be here among them!

15. Something to add?

Yes, of course: thank you so much for being a professional, this is one of the best interviews we've ever done!! To the readers: don't forget to support bands (local or international, small or big ones) by streaming music, going to gigs, and, if possible, buying merchandise. We do it for love and for you too, so let us keep doing it!!
