Interviews: Goresoerd

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Death Metal/Groove Metal band Goresoerd from Estonia. Check out this band and follow them on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

That name was just born that way. We put together the Estonian word soerd (werewolf) and the English word gore.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

It would be better to say that we are mixing different genres together and we like it.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, Stig and Eero knew each other and they were talking a lot about the idea of bringing Goresoerd alive back in 2004.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

We can name at least a hundred bands, for example Carcass, Emperor, Bathroy, Sodom, Vitriol, Hypocrisy, Cannibal Corpse, Aborted, Shining, Marduk.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Emotional events mostly. We don't write anything from an empty spot.

6. Where was your last gig?

At Tallinn Music Week in Estonia.

7. Where would you like to act?

There is no special place, we can play everywhere where people can enjoy our performance.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Anyone with whom it would be fun and enjoyable.

9. Whom not?

We don’t know.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Yes of course. We don’t advise beginners to start gigs (fight with stage fright) with alcohol. Sooner or later it makes you numb and you don’t get any enjoyment out of playing. If the audience enjoys your show, it will translate back onto stage and the stage fright will disappear on its own.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Emperor

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

To tattoo our autographs.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They‘re awesome and we appreciate every single one of them! Without them, it wouldn’t make sense to make music.

14. What do you think of our site?

Cool stuff! Keep going.

15. Something to add?

Listen to our new album “Inkvisiitor” and make sure to follow us on our socials.
