Interviews: Post Death Soundtrack

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Doom Metal/Grunge band Post Death Soundtrack from Canada. Check out this band and follow them on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

The band name initially came from a song one of our founding members, Kenneth Buck, came out with. It was just an obscure instrumental, but the name stuck, It has multiple meanings, but a general meaning is the energetic ripples you leave behind when you are physically gone.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I like to think of what we're doing as 'In Utero' colliding with doom metal. We like these genres because we love heavy and sloppy music. Doom is basically grunge slowed down to a crawl, so it's perfect for us.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, we played in different bands in the Calgary independent scene and knew each other long before Jon got involved with Post Death Soundtrack.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

For both of us, I think it would be the Beatles and Nirvana.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

For me (Steve), it's Kur Cobain.

6. Where was your last gig?

9/11/2010 opening for Frontline Assembly. We are mainly a studio project.

7. Where would you like to act?

I'm not much of an actor unless you count life, where I seem to wear a clown face.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Well, we both really love Windhand, Mastodon, Meshuggah, YOB, and Russian Circles very much.

9. Whom not?

Nickelback?

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

A little bit. I go into an angry zone once I get onstage though. I lose myself in the lyrics. Just believe in what you're saying.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

The Beatles, Nirvana, Tool, Alice in Chains, Black Sabbath, The Doors, etc.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We don't get a ton of groupies, per say.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We deeply appreciate anyone who takes the time to check out and enjoy/relate to our music. It means the world to us.

14. What do you think of our site?

Your site is amazing, and the support of independent artists is a sacred act.
