Interviews: SUPERMODEL TAXIDERMY

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Thrash Metal/Skate Punk/Hardcore band SUPERMODEL TAXIDERMY from Canada. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, did you plan it or come out just like that?

What better mascot for a thrashy band is there than a Supermodel Taxidermy? Our name was a pre-thought F.U. to everything that represents an ugly figurehead in society, such as the fashion industry and their skewed perception of what beauty is.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

That’s easy! Punk and metal are two of the most intense genres going, putting them together only made sense for us.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Negative, we all met after the guitarist/ singer (myself) recruited members for the group. It’s been almost four years now and we haven’t looked back since

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Shawn: Slayer

Reilly: Avenged Sevenfold

Mike: Pantera

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Every song is unique in its development, typically we focus on topics that deal with societal horrors and ways to impact a change. We write about topics that need more focus.

6. Where was your last gig?

May 3rd in Edmonton, Alberta. We played with our buddies in Kill Witch

7. Where would you like to act?

Vancouver, Canada is a spot we haven’t played yet. Promoters get at us!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We really like what the boys in Hazzerd out of Calgary are doing lately. I have also become a fan of Rippr’d out of Toronto.

9. Whom not?

We will play with anybody that isn’t on a sex offender list.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Power through is all you can do; everyone gets nervous but why should that stop you. My advice – close you’re your eyes and breath.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Slayer, Pennywise, Pantera, Suicidal Tendencies, D.R.I, NOFX, The Dayglo Abortions

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing weird yet, so bring it, peeps!

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are awesome! We typically hang out with them after the shows. I love getting to know everyone who comes to see us, it’s actually the best part of the job.

14. What do you think of our site?

I can’t tell you how many bands I’ve dove into because of your interview approach. Your site rips, I love it.

15. Something to add?

Don’t be afraid to reach out to us on our socials. We want to grow the scene and perform in more places.
