Interviews: DUNE

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Thrash Metal band DUNE from Saudi Arabia. Check out the interview and follow the band on their INSTAGRAM PROFILE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, did you plan it or come out just like that?

In Saudi Slang, you call a Hooligan or thug a dune-like this guy is such a dune (in Arabic), it was actually a joke when we were discussing the band name then we just went with it.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Dune Genre though it is a mix of multiple styles, but mainly thrash at its core, was due to the love of this style of music that we all grow up with

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

No, music is how we all met and became close friends

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Vocalist's Favourite band is Slayer and Testament Guitarist Favourite band The Current Drummer's Favourite band Slayer and Exodus Bassist's Favourite band are Korn and Slipknot

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Usually, the day to day struggles we all face in our lives, the world around us and all of the issues happening around

6. Where was your last gig?

Riyadh

7. Where would you like to act?

We really looking forward to going international and participating in known festivals

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Man that’s a hard one, there are so many bands that we would dream of sharing the stage with, Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth, Testament, Lamb of god, Godsmack, Korn, Currents, so many bands

9. Whom not?

Let's say we would avoid Pop music artists, you cant combine gas and fire

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

For sure before any show, we feel the butterflies kick in usually but still though it is more of an excitement to go on the stage, we really consider the stage our playground

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

There are multiple bands that inspired us that we used to listen to growing up, from Metallica, slayer, Pantera, Testament, Korn, Godsmack, Currents and more 

12. What do you think of your fans?

We have the coolest fans ever, they are so supportive and insane in our live shows, it plays a huge part in our live shows as we really feed off the energy from each other

13. What do you think of our site?

It's a really cool and great source of music to search and to be used as the vault of new music and artist exploration
