Interviews: Stay For Tomorrow

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock/Pop Punk band Stay For Tomorrow from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, did you plan it or come out just like that?

We threw a lot of ideas at the wall to see what would stick and found we all wanted the word ‘tomorrow’ in the band name. Our old bassist Ollie came up with the name “Stay For Tomorrow” and we all loved it!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

A mix of all of our favourite bands and music that we listen to has inspired us to create our music that falls under the alt/rock umbrella. We have made songs that lean more towards pop/punk, indie/rock and hard/rock which has happened naturally through the writing process.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Nic and Sean knew each other previously from working on different musical projects.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Joe - Paramore

Nic - Black Stone Cherry

Sean - Pendulum

Gabe - Incubus

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We love to write songs that expand on a feeling, tell stories and that are relatable to many! We just generally enjoy creating music together. Sometimes these songs derive from a personal experience and sometimes they’re fabricated.

6. Where was your last gig?

The Montrose Music Festival.

7. Where would you like to act?

We would love to play on a big stage like Barrowlands or Ovo Hydro in Glasgow.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We would love to feature with all our favourite bands!

9. Whom not?

I think as long as it fits the style of music we were making there isn’t anyone we would flat out say no to.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Yes! Make sure you know your material so get practising! Then start small by playing to family and friends and build up to things like open mic nights. Joe - The first open mic night I ever did I started the first song and sung the wrong words. I was so nervous and realised I had just made a massive mistake, right at the start too. But I brushed it off and carried on, mistakes happen! I never sung that song incorrectly after that and I never will!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

We have all been inspired by our favourite bands (previously mentioned) but we’re all fans of Biffy Clyro and love to see a Scottish rock band become so successful!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing crazy (yet)! We did have someone want to buy 10 of our lighters back when we sold them which isn’t your everyday purchase!

13. What do you think of your fans?

We are so grateful for our fans! We have been seeing our fanbase slowly but surely grow and it’s so amazing to see! We are honestly so appreciative of anyone who listens to our music and/or comes to a show!

14. What do you think of our site?

We love that you cover so many artists of different genres! It’s user-friendly and packed with content!

15. Something to add?

We just want to say thank you for reaching out to us! We hope that you and your readers love our new single ‘Crushing Down’!
