Behind The Tracks: Among These Ashes - Faceless War Machines (Single) (2024)
Faceless War Machines is the first single on our new album. We had the idea to release the single ahead of announcing any other details about the album. This is a bit different from the norm, but we deliberately decided to "break the rules" with this and enjoy the ride after all of the hard work creating and capturing these songs. Lyrically, this song was born out of contemporary military conflicts where conscripted soldiers are forced to serve tyrannical leaders. Though primarily inspired by current conflicts, the lyrics are intentionally written vaguely enough to apply to any occurrence of this through the history of military conflict. JP delivers an incredible vocal performance on this track and album. He is able to be aggressive and melodic at the same time. That combined with the heaviness and aggression of the band's performance creates what we think is a beautiful contrast that makes up the ATA soundscape. Listeners can expect this exact sonic for the rest of the songs on the album, and we think the album in its entirety will resonate with a diverse set of listeners.
