Interviews: Bless The Dead
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Groove Metal band Bless The Dead from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?
We call ourselves Bless the Dead to convey a sense of
honoring those who have passed away while
simultaneously embracing the intense, often cathartic
nature of our music. The name reflects our
appreciation for the raw, primal emotions of all kinds
of themes in life and death.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
HAD NO CHOICE THE BOSS SAID SO
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Only one of us is from the original line up. But in
some way, we have all known each other from sharing
the stage while in other bands.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
Caleb loves early 90’s death metal.
Mike loves Skid Row
Jon loves Rap
Noah loves 70s dance music
Keith loves all 80s music
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Newton’s third law: “For every action, there is an equal
and opposite reaction”. So my writing is simply me
reacting to my surroundings, my writing is a product
of my environment. Pretty easy if staying within the
guidelines and thought process of BTD!
6. Where was your last gig?
Howlin Wolf New Orleans
7. Where would you like to act?
England and Japan
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Bless The Dead Ft. Wheeler Walker Jr.
Pussy and Beer (Remix)
9. Whom not?
Any band that wants to speak their personal mind
and views of politics or religion. Make your art and
shut the hell up! We can agree to disagree and still
find common ground in music.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat
that?
Actually, Yes. I suffer from it every night on stage to some
degree. If you don’t have that fear of the unknown, expecting
the unexpected, the butterflies in the pit of your stomach,
then maybe this life isn’t for you. My tip for the beginners on
how to beat that is…. DON’T, never lose that feeling. If it goes
away it’s gone forever.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
This is a tough question. We can spend days discussing this.
I would like to change it up a little. I get inspired by local
and famous musicians who are down-to-earth and passionate
about their music.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
To sleep with a fan's wife while he watched.
13. What do you think of your fans?
We love them. It’s a unique connection to sharing something
you’re extremely passionate about. They take time out of
their lives to come watch us perform and party with us.
14. What do you think of our site?
The sight is awesome and we appreciate you giving us this platform to speak a little bit about
ourselves. We’re just some country boys deep in the south who like to drink and make some
noise!
15. Something to add?
Life is short and live for the day. Live, love, and hold every moment as
close as you can. Take time to reflect and be a lover, not a hater. We are also a band that’s easy
to work with and would love to see more of the world so let’s play some shows!
