Behind The Tracks: Draugrheim - Blood & Steel (Single) (2024)

Blood & Steel was one of the first tracks we wrote after the EP, and was born of a desire to come up with a song that felt like a steamroller of riffs moving over you while maintaining some groove and melody. Lyrically the track was at least partially inspired by Bernard Cornwell's Arthurian trilogy and Last Kingdom series of books and the vivid descriptions of shield-walls meeting, the way in which warriors would psych themselves up before the fight. It's a call to arms a statement of intent and an indicator of the direction we've switched to since the EP.
