Behind The Tracks: Joke Addiction - Ghost (Single) (2024)
Joke Addiction, the heavy-groove hard rock band from Siracusa, Sicily, is back with their latest single, Ghost, set to release on October 31 under Volcano Records. Known for their gritty rock sound influenced by legends like Alice in Chains, Velvet Revolver, and Black Sabbath, Joke Addiction infuses Ghost with intense riffs and dark themes. The song, composed by Andrea Campisi, Carmelo Di Natale, and Angelo Rizza, tackles the concept of a sinister “inciter”—someone who sows discord and enjoys watching conflicts unfold from the shadows, much like a ghostly presence observing the chaos they’ve caused.
Formed in 2013 by Campisi and Di Natale, with Rizza joining on bass in 2022, the band has carved a unique place in the Italian rock scene, blending personal stories with their hard-hitting musical style. Ghost draws on their own encounters with divisive figures and reflects the group’s experiences with those who exploit others' vulnerabilities for their own enjoyment. Now, as Joke Addiction looks toward their upcoming album, they continue to evolve, delivering a sound that’s both socially resonant and unapologetically raw.
