Interviews: Emitill
On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Progressive Metalcore band Emitill from Iran. Check out the interview and follow the band on their INSTAGRAM PROFILE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?
Emitill is taken from the name Amitiel, the angel of the sixth day, the truth-oriented angel. We changed it to Emitill to maintain the rhyme of the name based on the names of angels, but when you repeat Emitill, it is neither a hero nor a villain for you. Also, you can read it separately, Emit ill.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
Since our songs include many genres, we try to borrow from other genres to convey our meaning and goals to the audience for a deeper connection.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
No, we met by chance, and I (Ali Zirak) was looking for a member, when I realized that Armin has a similar mindset to me, we started working together.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
Ali Zirak: Architects, BMTH, Meshuggah, Slipknot, and Muse
Armin Amiry: Shokran, Architects, Born of Osiris, Gojira, Orbit Culture, and Bleed from Within.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
We write songs based on conclusions from the books we read and our view of life and society, but we try to see the events from the outside with imaginary eyes but close to reality. This makes us find a deeper connection with music and touch it.
6. Where was your last gig?
For now, we are focusing on releasing the album and after that, we will perform.
7. Where would you like to act?
Rock Am Ring, Royal Albert Hall, Wacken.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
If one day a feature happens with any artist that is suitable for our music.
9. Whom not?
We have no particular opinion on that.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?
We're still focusing on creating songs rather than performing live shows so we wouldn't know.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Architects, BMTH, Wage War, and generally classical music.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
So far, the only strange thing was that someone introduced our music to us.
13. What do you think of your fans?
We are like a family and the support of all family members always causes growth and encouragement. Like our fans. Love you all.
14. What do you think of our site?
We admire the fact that you give bands from different genres and scenes a chance to be seen on Breathing the Core. Keep up the good work!
