Behind The Artworks: FALSE HEADS - Cracked (2025)
JASON PALMER (PHOTOGRAPHER): As a photographer, you’re always searching for a location that complements your subject. For Cracked, we shot the video at a disused, abandoned, and trashed RAF base that had been converted into a racetrack years ago. I think it suited Cracked perfectly. The place was honestly quite unsafe, with the floor already in a terrible state. How none of us fell through it is a miracle!
While we were setting up, I was scouting the location for potential shots that could work as a single artwork, and honestly, there was plenty to choose from. I noticed these three windows, and they immediately made me think of cracked glass, the track’s lyrics, and how we could tie it all together with Luke, Jake, and Charlie in the frame.
LUKE GRIFFITHS (VOCALS): The shot was a perfect aesthetic fit for the title. The song is about rage, the kind of people drawn to it, and the visceral reaction it provokes—how some people can’t pull themselves back once they’re there. Because of that, I wanted to tweak the image slightly. It represents a fractured part of our psyche, something that can corrupt your soul if you lose control. That’s why I edited it the way I did.
