Behind The Artworks: Seum/Temple Of The Fuzz Witch - Conjuring (Split) (2025)
Piotr (SEUM - Bass): “Conjuring” was initially a proposition of our label Black Throne Productions. When the label reached out to us about this split album we thought for a while about how we could make it consistent. Temple of The Fuzz Witch is a black/doom band heavily inspired by the occult while we are more urban and gritty. We took it as a challenge and tried to make it work conceptually. For the artwork we came up with the idea of an Ouija board, a cool way to visually represent two different opposite sides such as day/night, light/darkness etc... We brought this first idea along with the “Conjuring” title to our friend Charlotte, a great tattoo artist from Lyon, to expand on it.
Charlotte / Cloporte: When Seum, Temple Of The Fuzz Witch, and Black Throne contacted me with the idea of an artwork based on the Ouija Board design, I couldn’t say no: I t is a classic and, surprisingly, I never worked on that theme before. Drawing for musical projects, especially discs covers, is a work on the side of my tattoo activity which I really like. It gives me the opportunity to expand my universe of grotesque/strange creatures and atmosphere and develop a deep connection with a kind of music I really appreciate. We already worked together with SEUM on a previous tape project, and I also tattooed Piotr and Gaspard with an element of the artwork when we met during their French tour!
