Interviews About Albums: Ostoraton - Rehla (2020)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Saudi Arabian Progressive Death Metal/Melodic Death Metal band Ostoraton to ask questions about their album, "Rehla".

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

I can say a lot but will keep it short and simple. This album is a long lasting dream that came true after 18 years.

The album is our band debut, we were all thirsty to make music and contribute to the metal world, so we put our efforts into it.

The album is rich with beautiful melodies, heavy and catchy riffs, technical lead and also a different style of beats. All in all, this album is really beautiful for the ears and will leave you with a nice memory.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

Rehla means Journey in Arabic language, and the album was a long journey

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

I composed all the songs for the album. I am the founder, vocalist, and rhythm Mohammad Alsharif

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

All songs are dear to me, they are like my kids, I love them all. But from listeners' feedback, many picked Rehla, the first song

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?

Yes, there is, to focus on human high virtues such as fate, honesty, bravery, hard work, learning and positive thinking and attitude

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

I wrote so many catch phrases in the lyrics such as track 8 "Eternal flames":

All those who stood up after their fall
They never changed their feet
Instead they have changed their ways of thinking
So step inside the mud
Show me what can be done

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank specially?

First album was mainly influenced by life experience, especially with aging. We get more experiments and life lessons

8. Something to add?

Thank you for your support and for your interest in our sound, it's much appreciated as we don't get any support from our own people locally. Cheers
