Behind The Artworks: Near Death Experience - Brief Is The Light (2025)

As you can see on the front cover, I wanted a simple image showing this woman in front of a "light door" and seemingly passing through it. This was the first and only idea i had since i chose 'Brief is the light' as the album title a long time ago.

 

I think it's quite simple but it suits the album concept very well and is easily understandable by the listener. It also gives right away an impression about how dark the album is gonna be and what style we are playing, they know it's not going to be a pop and happy album for sure :)

 

I worked with a French known designer here in Nantes to make it.

 

In the booklet and inlay (below the cd), I extended the concept a little bit: below the transparent cd holder (jewel box) is a woman hand / arm trying to catch and reach the light, and the last page of the booklet and the back cover have the same image : this is the light door but with no one in the middle, so did the woman manage to cross and come back "to life' or is she still in the coma?
