Interviews About Albums: OSIRIS REX - Arrival Of The New Dawn (2025)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Finnish Thrash Metal band OSIRIS REX to ask questions about their album, "Arrival Of The New Dawn".

1. What can you say about this new EP?

It's a new beginning for the band that came out of the ashes of Tornado, as both Henry and I were members. For us, it's a step to the future, combining thrash elements of the past with more modern influences that V. and John bring with their guitar playing.

2. What is the meaning of the EP name?

The name has a double meaning. The first part, which deals with us as a band and the arrival of something new in regards to thrash metal. While a listener could hear us and instantly recognize our influences, there is no denying that we don't look like any other band out there playing our style of music, and the second part deals with the lyrics of the title track.

3. Which one is the composer of the EP?

I (Superstar Joey Severance) was the main composer of the music, with a few ideas thrown in here and there from others not in the band. That was mainly because at the time of the writing of the songs, I didn't have a full band, but in the future, as we have already begun working on songs for our debut album, there will be musical contributions from the other members as well

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

My favorite track would be the title track, "Arrival of the New Dawn" because I think it's the catchiest, but I love all of the songs, especially the Donna Summer cove,r because it's so different for a thrash metal band

5. Is there a special message in this EP? If there is what it is?

While two of the songs could be seen as Part I and Part II, I wouldn't say there is any special message running throughout.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

Sure! I could provide you with all of the lyrics in a separate attachment.

7. Which inspirations have been important for this EP? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

From a lyrical standpoint, both "Arrival of the New Dawn" and "The Meek Shall Inherit" are loosely based on the song/video (It's Not Me) Talking by the 80s new wave band, A Flock of Seagulls.

8. Something to add?

On behalf of Henry, John, and V, I would like to say Thank You for the interview and your interest/support of Osiris Rex!
