Interviews About Albums: Shrouded In Darkness - 11:11 (2025)
In this new interview, we sat down with the Swedish Doom Metal/Death Metal band Shrouded In Darkness to ask questions about their album, "11:11".
1. What can you say about this new CD?
Well, it's our third album in a row, and we're continuing to work on the concept and soundscape we established on the previous records.
2. What is the meaning of the CD name?
"11:11" has a spiritual meaning, both in astrology and numerology, and an opportunity to get in touch with your inner self and connect to the universe on a higher, more spiritual level. It stands for awakening.
3. Which one is the composer of the CD?
Mike has composed the basics for all the songs, and my brother Mikael and I have written the lyrics for them. Then it is teamwork to shape them into a final phase.
4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?
"The Lurking Devil" is a favorite for everyone, so if you have to pick just one track, it would probably be this one.
5. Is there a special message on this CD? If there is, what is it?
Nothing particularly different from anything we've done before. Our songs are often about sadness and pain, love and death, goodness and evil, and sometimes horror.
6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?
Sure. Here are a few lines from "My Every Step":
I search for a glimmer of hope
But it feels like I'm standing on slippery slopes
I'm suffocating in this endless night
I long for the warmth of the morning light
7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?
We primarily thank each other for finding each other and sharing the same vision, and finding an outlet for what we have within us. We value support from loved ones, and that also includes our most devoted fans.
8. Something to add?
Thank you for this little conversation, and you readers: Please check out the band if you haven't.
