Interviews: Gravery
On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Deathcore/Downtempo band Gravery from Italy. Check out the interview and follow this amazing band!
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it or come out just like that?
We were on tour in the UK with another band and some of us remained in Manchester to attend a festival. While taking a coffee in between bands, the name just popped, and we all thought it was a perfect fit for the concept that this band had in mind.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
No particular reason. It's just what we feel like playing, and it expresses our musical influences. Plus, it fits perfectly with our lyrics
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Yes. Some of us go way back. Like 20 plus years or so.
4. Each band member's favourite band?
We cannot answer with a single one. Any of us. We have listened to so much music for so many years, and we like so many different styles that to name one single band is simply not possible.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Mainly, we try to ask ourselves what could go on in the mind of a serial killer. What are the triggers of their behaviour, and if those triggers could have been identified to prevent the horrible crimes they committed?
6. Where was your last gig?
In Bergamo, Italy, around 2 weeks ago.
7. Where would you like to act?
We would love to have the opportunity to show ourselves in the USA
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Too many bands….way too many bands to mention.
9. Who not?
No one in particular, as long as they are not extremists
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?
No, not really. We are really confident, and we have been doing this for a long time already. If you are a beginner the only tip is to avoid bullshit like getting drunk or using drugs to be able to go on stage. If you need to do it, it means you are not made for this. Do yourself a favour and go do something else with your life.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Once again, too many bands in too many eras. Surel,y all the bands that were brave enough to mix styles back in the day are a great inspiration
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
To give him back his tooth if we saw it, as he lost it in the pit at one of our shows.
13. What do you think of your fans?
They are the true foundation of any underground band. And they never need to be taken for granted.
14. What do you think of our site?
We love the fact that you give space to underground bands. Remember…there is no mainstream without an underground
15. Something to add?
No. We are a band called Graver,y and this is what we do.
