Behind The Artworks: Airborn - Lizard Secrets Part Three - Utopia (2025)

The album artwork features the lizard detective guy that appeared on every record of Lizard Secrets Trilogy, looking from a balcony towards a cyberpunk-style cityscape. Neon signs show reassuring messages like “We take care of your dreams...”, “Have no fear!” or “Crime rate: 0%”. Too good to be true? That’s in fact the album’s main topic: a fake utopia where people is quietly complacent to corporate powers that be, in exchange for an apparent sense of calm and stability.

 

The artwork was created by amazing artist Trevor Storey from United Kingdom. He had an impressive 30+ years career in video games industry, having worked for some truly legendary companies like Ocean, U.S. Gold and Acclaim with more than 100 games in his resume. He’s also very active in retrogaming community, doing cover artworks for UK magazines like Zzap! and Crash annual, while running his own development company, Icon64.

 

As usual, I sent him a general outline of themes and lyrics of the album and he delivered the perfect artwork. I can’t stress enough you’ll never receive the same level of satisfaction filling an AI prompt, hoping for results. Artists like Trev are the real deal!
