Behind The Tracks: Survivalist - Radio Bleed (Single) (2025)

Our new single, “Radio Bleed”, releasing August 29th, is a song built around the idea of loyalty—what it means, how it gets tested, and how it shapes us. Everyone has experienced those moments where friendships or relationships don’t feel balanced, where trust gets broken, and you’re left questioning the people around you. The track dives into that feeling of betrayal and isolation, but just as much, it’s about growth. It’s about taking those darker moments and turning them into something stronger—learning from them, adapting, and overcoming the animosity that life sometimes throws our way.

At its core, “Radio Bleed” is about friendship, togetherness, and finding the right people who stand by you no matter what. We wanted to capture both the struggle and the release—the way it feels to be completely isolated, but also the relief and joy that comes from finding your real friends, the ones who are there when you need them most. Sometimes the answer is as simple as kicking back, throwing on some music, sharing a drink, and remembering you’re not alone.

Musically, the track is a crossover between metalcore and deathcore, but with a twist—we wanted to carry that theme of togetherness while also making it fun, bouncy, and almost like a party. There’s plenty of heaviness, but it’s wrapped up in energy that makes you want to move, shout along, and just enjoy yourself in the moment.

It was written collectively by Gavin Sharp, Nick Butcher, Rhys Fraser, and Lee Shaw—we’re just four lads from Belfast. Survivalists goal is making music that means something. A big part of what we do as a band is offering support, whether that’s through speaking up about mental health, providing a bit of escapism, or just creating a space where people can hang out and feel connected. “Radio Bleed” is our way of channeling that message into sound—a reminder that even through betrayal and hardship, there’s always a way to come out the other side stronger.
