Interviews: Adelon

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Death Metal band Adelon from Switzerland. Check out the interview and follow this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? You planned it or came out just like that?

I heard the name Adelon in a documentary on Carl Jung. The word Adelon is supposed to be an old Greek word to describe the state before creation. When I heard it, I immediately thought that it would be a great band name.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Death Metal is our favorite genre; it has aggression and precision at the same time. But it’s also great for experimenting with new ideas. You can take weird scales and easily turn them into a great riff. Or you can add weird rhythmical ideas, and it fits nicely, too. For me, Death Metal is a great starting point, then I add my other musical influences to it.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes. Pierrick (vocals) and Titouan (bass) are brothers. And Pierrick and I (Quentin, guitare) lived at the same place during our studies.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Pierrick: Psycroptic

Titouan: Gojira

Zach: Tesseract

Quentin: Gojira

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Most of the music we listen to inspires us to better ourselves when writing songs. Of course, it’s not only Metal Music, books and movies are also big inspirations for the moods and the story we want to share.

6. Where was your last gig?

St. Maurice in Switzerland

7. Where would you like to act?

A big festival, like Hellfest!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

It would be insane to have Joe from Gojira on a track! We have some amazing guests for our next album, and we’re very eager to announce them when the album is done.

Taylor Swift

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

We all do a little bit, but it’s a good thing when it’s just a little before the gig. It keeps us focused, and we need that when playing that kind of music. For me, at least, I just kind of tell myself that the people here are there to have fun and mosh, not to judge my guitar playing.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

I think Gojira is our holy grail for metal music. Not the fastest, brutal, or technical, but all those things do not matter when you write great songs. And that’s the most important thing for us now.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Signing their heads.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They’re great!

14. What do you think of our site?

It’s good, maybe too many different genres for my taste.
