Interviews: Fermentor

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Instrumental Metal band Fermentor from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it or come out like that?

We imagine ourselves as mad scientists mixing up potions (riffs/ideas) and turning them into grand elixirs (songs). We are the fermentors of sound!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We just play music that is interesting and stimulating to us. The genre is just the end product of our creativity.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We have known each other our whole lives. We are distant cousins.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Dylan’s favorite bands are Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Billy Cobham. Wally’s favorite bands are Opeth, Dysrhythmia, and Cephalic Carnage.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We don’t need inspiration, we are inspiration.

6. Where was your last gig?

The last show was at Brick By Brick, San Diego’s premier metal venue.

7. Where would you like to act?

We won’t stop until we are performing at Red Rocks.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We would love to collaborate with Colin Marston.

9. Who not?

Open to working with anyone with creativity and an open mind.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Stage fright is special; it’s what separates us from everyone else. If stage fright didn’t exist, everyone would be up on stage. Embrace it, that’s what makes this musical life significant.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

See question 4!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Everyone and again, people ask to sing our songs. We would be willing to collaborate with a singer, but all the songs we’ve written are complete and don’t need vocals to improve them.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love and appreciate all of those who show up, support, and relate to the music we make!

14. What do you think of our site?

Thanks for helping us get the word out!

15. Something to add?

Make sure you check out our new album “Aggreement”. It is the culmination of our musical journey that started over 15 years ago. It is the purest form of Fermentor. 17 tracks of creative weirdness!
