Interviews: Visitant

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Ethereal Black Metal/Black Metal band Visitant from the USA. Check out the interview and follow this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Was it planned, or did it just happen organically?

I was just looking up different names for apparitions. I wanted a one-word band name that was strong.

2. Why did you choose to play this genre? 

It was just the style of music that truly expressed how I felt to my core. No other genre really made me feel the same way.

3. Did you know each other before forming the band?

Yes. Taylor Tidwell and I have known each other for 10 years, I think. Kilian and Tony, I've been friends with for maybe a year or so prior to the beginning of Visitant.

4. What is each band member's favorite band?

Chelsea: I have so many favorites.. I have been listening to a lot of Motown lately. The Spinners, Four Tops, The Commodores

Tony: No music. YouTube tutorials.

Thomas: Igorrr

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Dreams & life experiences.

6. Where was your last gig?

Michigan Metal Fest Aug 23

7. Where would you like to perform in the future?

I hope we get to perform out of the country next year! I also dream of playing Fire in the Mountains Festival and MDF

8. Which artist or band would you like to collaborate with?

Igorrr, Rivers of Nihil, Aurora, Heilung, Wardruna, Mick Gordon, Cold, Naglfar, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer, Hour of Penance

9. Is there anyone you wouldn’t want to collaborate with?

I am sure there are a few, but let's not focus on that!

10. Have any of you ever experienced stage fright? Do you have any tips for beginners on overcoming it?

Yes. Make sure you know your material by heart. It will all be muscle memory, and you will make it through! Learn grounding techniques

11. Which bands have influenced you the most?

Mastodon, Gojira, Naglfar, Opeth, Tenhi, Enslaved, Carach Angren, Aurora, Chelsea Wolfe, SO many more

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing too weird.... YET

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are the best. We are so grateful for our supporters. We wouldn't be anything without them

15. Is there anything else you’d like to add?

We just released a new album called "Rubidium". It's available to stream everywhere! We will also be on tour from OCT 2 - OCT 11 with IATT
