Commenting on the themes of the single, vocalist Anna Forsyth says, “This one does what it says on the tin. My biggest fear in life is the passing of time—the older I get, the quicker it goes. I love my life, even in the hardest of times, and I truly appreciate every single second that I get to be here. Sometimes I’ll be sitting with my friends, maybe at the beach, a few beers in, watching the sunset, and I think about how beautiful it is just to exist, then my brain will go, ‘Yeah, but one day you won’t.’ I wish I didn’t obsess over it, but it’s hard to shake, so of course I had to write a song about it.”

“I’ve sworn to myself that I won’t leave this life without making something of this band, and this song is just a big word vomit all about the stress of that, when you know it’s not a given. I believe we’ll get there, but also know there’s plenty more fretting ahead of us until we do.”
