Interviews: Empty Spaces

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Rock band, Empty Spaces, from Northern Ireland. Check out the interview and follow this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name?

Rahul: The band name originally came from Rahul. When discussing a name for the band, we came up with " Empty Spaces after a song by Pink Floyd. Since its inception, the name has taken its own form in the Irish Music Scene. - Rahul

2. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Stevo: Rahul, Stevo, and Paul knew each other without knowing. Rahul was the middleman bringing both individuals together in 2023. The band began when Rahul and Stevo were in university, and it continued after the pandemic. Alex later joined the band in the summer of 2024, building to what we see today.

3. Each band member's favorite band?

Stevo - Foo Fighters,

Rahul - Arctic Monkeys

Paul - Bullet For My Valentine

Alex - System of a Down

4. Who or what inspires you to make songs?

Stevo: Honestly, it’s very much improvised; there isn’t one thing that inspires it. The song really comes from random ideas, and the lyrics fall into the imagery that the music creates.

5. Where was your last gig?

Stevo: The Ulster Sports Club in Belfast. - Stevo

6. Where would you like to act?

Rahul: Wembley Stadium - the pinnacle of British venues

7. Whom would you like to feature with?

Paul: On a tour, the ultimate feature would be Foo Fighters, on a song we’d love to do something really left field with an artist you wouldn’t expect, like Biffy Clyro

8. Whom not?

Alex: Machine Gun Kelly

9. Have you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat this?

Paul: Of course, it’s natural to feel worried about how you’ll be when you get out there. There are even moments now where I might feel uneasy or overthink how things will go. The problem isn’t stage fright, anxiety, worrying, etc, the problem is allowing it to get in the way of what you want to do. Find comfort in the fact that you care enough to have stage fright and get out and do the best you can; you will feel better. Fake it till you make it!

10. What’s the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Paul: After a show, I was once asked to come to an audience member's house, and he would pay me to hang out with him… weird vibes, I politely declined.
