The beauty of letting go - this song is the only song that does not have anything to do with the theme of a serial killer. The song is an homage to a friend who committed suicide, and these are his lyrics about why he did it. It’s the band’s way of honoring a lost friend.

 

Addicted to death- the song represents when the killer first realizes what they are. It represents an internal struggle with a compulsion they cannot help, yet they’re appalled by what they are doing.

 

A Heavier shade of black- this is a representation of the mindset and feeling that comes over the killer and how they cannot fight the compulsion to kill. Overtaking any good that was in them.

 

The burden- this represents what little good is left in the killer and how horrified that part of them is at what they are doing. Yet they are powerless to stop themselves.
