Behind The Tracks: Warahran - Flowered Field (Single) (2025)

“Flowered Field” opens with a progressive and yet, thrashy riff and abruptly moves to black metal style vocals and drumlines while maintaining a progressive metal song structure. The song also features death metal riffs to intensify the atmosphere and also a heavy breakdown to add a modern touch. From a songwriting perspective, Warahran showcases the chaotic nature of war to listeners where anything can happen. Lyrically this aligns well with Warahran’s message.

Warahran had this to add about “Flowered Fields”:

“We all lie to ourselves that we’re safe, but war can happen at any time and anywhere. We could all be next, but it’s important to keep fighting the good fight.”

With lines like “No time for sorrow and grief the only emotion is hate” the band shows the drastic nature of war, where there is no chance to feel any emotion but hate. At the end the band hints at retaliation at the aggressors. And how the victims of war will rise again.
