In this new interview, we sat down with the French Doom Metal/Gothic Metal band, All We Leave Behind, to ask questions about their album "In Absence Of Light". 

1. What can you say about “In Absence Of Light”?

We are proud of the work we've done on this album, and we hope you enjoy it!

2. What is the meaning of the album title?

The album title is part of the lyrics of the first track, "Darkness Prevails." The theme of this track is: When we stop fighting, when we give up, the dark side of mankind is never far away.

3. Who composed the music for “In Absence Of Light”?

POG, Tony, and Hell D composed the music.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you choose?

It would be the first single, "Nailed To A Dark Fate," which is very melodic. We hope it will make you want to listen to the rest of the album, which continues in this direction while also exploring darker corners.

5. Is there a special message in this album? If there is what it is?

Despite the darkness, there is always a glimmer of hope, as we can see on the cover art.

7. Which inspirations were important for “In Absence Of Light”? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

Musically, we're influenced by Paradise Lost, Black Sabbath, Candlemass, Type O Negative, Opeth, and many other bands... We'd like to thank our families, the bands we've shared the stage with, such as Datura Inoxia, Hellixxir, Star Rider, Jagannatha, Brüle, Hrothgar, Garden Of Erden, Liquid Flesh, General Cluster... We also want to give a special thank you to Yves Campion and François Cacciatore from Metallian, and to Loudblast, for whom we will soon be opening at their next concert.
