Interviews About Albums: No Drop For Us - Antesis Pt.2 (2025)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Spanish Metalcore band, No Drop For Us, to ask questions about their album "Antesis Pt. 2"

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

Antesis Pt. 2 is the culmination of our previous work. It’s a conceptual EP in which we explore mental health from a more hopeful perspective. Through its songs, we address themes such as therapy sessions, the learning process, and the skills acquired to face this ongoing struggle.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

We tried to find a name that could express, in a single word, what this work means to us. We believe that the concept of Antesis —which in botany refers to the process of a flower from its bloom to its withering— perfectly represents the journey we go through when trying to maintain the well-being of our mental health.

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

The EP was composed by all the members of the band and produced independently. For Antesis Pt. 2, we had the support of Art Gates Records for its distribution, and it was recorded by Juan Ángel López at Baboon Records, which has always been our trusted studio.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

It’s hard to choose just one song from this EP, since we truly believe all of them are great — from our singles Odisea and Vástagos to the rest of the tracks. But if I had to pick one, I’d choose Hálito. It’s our last song, and it makes us feel that we’ve closed a chapter as a band — one filled with hard work and effort, but also with happiness and pride for everything we’ve accomplished together over these past two years.

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?

Apart from what we mentioned in the first question, the EP also has a deeper concept that we wanted to accompany with symbolism reflecting the themes explored in each song. That’s why each track is associated with a specific plant and color, represented through illustrations that can be found both physically at our concerts and digitally on our website www.nodropforus.com. This is something we already did with our previous EP, Antesis, and we wanted to continue it because of the strength and depth it adds to our message

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

I couldn’t choose just one in particular, because all of them move us in different ways. However, I’d like to share a few lines from some songs that we feel are the most meaningful:

Piras – “Estoy luchando contra mi mitad comprendiendo cada lágrima con sal.”

Odisea – “Hay más fuerza que fe, ha costado entender si las heridas sanan la sonrisa puede volver.”

Vástago – “Y me siento a descansar, mi camino me dice que pare. He llegado hasta el final y me impulso de nuevo.”

Hálito – “En este lugar me ayudó a despedir todo el ruido que hay dentro de mí.”

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

Musically, we wanted to keep the foundation we had established in our previous EP, inspired by bands such as De la Cuna a la Tumba and Ella la Rabia. Of course, we’d like to thank all our friends and family for supporting us at all times and for giving us the strength and energy to keep going.

8. Something to add?

Many thanks to everyone who has been following us from the very beginning, to those who joined us recently, and to those who will surely join us in the future. Your support means everything to us — stay tuned for what’s coming in 2026. A big hug from the No Drop For Us family.
