Interviews: Circle The City
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock band, Circle The City, from Canada. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? You planned it or came out just like that?
The band name comes from a lyric line in the song ‘Televators’ by the Mars Volta
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
We don’t really pick a genre; we just write music we like, and it sometimes blends genres together
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
No, we met through answering ads looking for bandmates
4. Each band member's favourite band?
I Mother Earth, The Mars Volta, Closure in Moscow, as well as punk & Jazz influences
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Just the idea of creating music inspires us to write. Sometimes the ideas come together really easily, sometimes not so much
6. Where was your last gig?
Sarnia, Ontario, Canada - our hometown
7. Where would you like to act?
Not really sure what you mean by this
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
We’d like to play with some of the bands we look up to
9. Whom not?
We probably wouldn’t want to play with a country band
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?
Yes, stage fright is common when starting out. Just remember why you want to play your music for someone else, and that no one is judging you
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Any band that tries something different, in particular, Closure in Moscow / The Mars Volta
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
We haven’t had any weird requests that come to mind
13. What do you think of your fans?
We’re very appreciative of anyone who checks out our music
14. What do you think of our site?
We think it’s great that you interview bands and help people learn about them
15. Something to add?
Check out our music on all streaming platforms. Thanks for the questions!
