Interviews: IDŌL

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Heavy Metal band, IDŌL, from France. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Was it planned, or did it just happen organically?

Originating from the Greek “eidôlon” meaning image, IDŌL wishes to pay homage to art and be like a catharsis. We wanted a short, simple, easy-to-remember, and good-sounding band name. In addition, V wanted the band name to sound like "-OL". So here it is...IDŌL

2. Why did you choose to play this genre?

In order to carry out a musical project presenting a mystical and philosophical dimension, we chose to combine elements of symphonic metal and hard rock to express out. The lyrics are tinged with dark romanticism with the intention of entertaining and transporting listeners to another galaxy.

3. Did you know each other before forming the band?

We met in high school, 2007

4. What is each band member's favorite band?

V: Children of Bodom, Emperor, Opeth, and many more...

A: Slipknot, Devil's Blood, Megadeth, and many more...

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Inspiration is everywhere: books, films, music, the ups and downs of life, etc. 

6. Where was your last gig?

A place called Nowhere for now

7. Where would you like to perform in the future?

Any place where people want to discover our universe

8. Which artist or band would you like to collaborate with?

There are plenty of artists we'd like to collaborate with, both artistically and humanly. Just a matter of stars aligning, one supposes.

9. Is there anyone you wouldn’t want to collaborate with?

For now, none

10. Have any of you ever experienced stage fright? Do you have any tips for beginners on overcoming it?

As our stage experience is currently limited, we cannot elaborate further on the subject. However, this has not prevented the creative process from expressing itself in other ways, particularly through videos and music production.

11. Which bands have influenced you the most?

For this project, the bands that influenced us the most are diverse...: There are artists from classical backgrounds, such as Rachmaninov and Bach, and alongside that, there are rock and metal influences such as Cradle of Filth, Nightwish, Rammstein, Ghost, etc.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Our community has never shown any signs of malice or strangeness

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are kind and respectful. We wish them all the best

14. What do you think of our site?
