Interviews: May The Muse

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Rock artist, May The Muse, from Germany. Check out the interview and this artist.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name May The Muse? Did you plan it, or did it come out just like that?

It just happened. I was May for some time, but no one could find me on the internet, so I changed it to May The Muse.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I never intentionally think about genres. I like everything authentic. The record was produced by Justin Hawkins, and he introduced me to a whole new catalogue of music. It inspired me. Especially the goth section.

3. Which band is your favourite, and why?

Eagles.

4. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Heartbreak seems to bring out the best in me.

5. Where was your last gig?

My last gig was in London at the Sky Arts Dinner.

6. Where would you like to perform?

In Philharmonics and churches.

7. Whom would you like to perform with?

Only the most talented ones. Glenn Hughes, Paolo Nutini,…

8. Whom not?

Everyone is in need of autotune or pitch correction.

9. Have you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

The first 2 songs are always hard. After that, I’m fine. I sometimes have a tiny smoke before the show, and it really calms me down. :)

10. What bands have inspired you the most?

Sade, Zero7, Eagles, Kings Of Leon. Only By The Night is one of the best albums out there.

11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

A lollipop that was still in my mouth.

12. What do you think of your fans?

I love them, and for some reason, they’re very good-looking.

13. What do you think of our site?

It looks hard! Took me about 10 minutes to read your logo as well. :)

14. What can you tell us about your latest single, ‘Cruel World’, and why should followers of the site give it a listen?

It’s a love song wrapped in goth glitter.
